Job description
Overview

Shift Technician (Training into Renewables) – Girvan. Rotating shifts (days/nights).

About the role

This company specialises in the production of biogas through anaerobic digestion at a large number of sites across Scotland. They are expanding into England and other territories and are beginning to expand into other areas of Renewable Energy such as Solar PV and Wind.

In this role you will be based at the company’s main plant in Scotland, helping to ensure the safe, efficient and reliable running of a large-scale biogas plant. Duties include monitoring plant processes, inspecting and fault finding on equipment, supporting maintenance regimes and completing logs of works undertaken.

The role is on a continuous shift pattern of 35 days, comprising 7x 12-hour day shifts, 7x 12-hour night shifts, 1 maintenance day and a 10 day break.

Responsibilities
  • Carrying out basic fault finding, inspections and first-line maintenance
  • Ensuring maintenance regimes are adhered to
  • Ensuring the site meets HSE requirements and procedures are followed
  • Carrying out operation processes for the running of the plant
  • Completing operational logs for works undertaken
Requirements / Candidate Profile
  • Previous maintenance experience or experience in process plant operations
  • Ex-Forces/Ex-Marine engineers will be highly relevant
  • Mobile plant experience (e.g., telehandlers, forklifts) – desirable
  • Harness training/Working at heights – desirable
  • Waste Management experience – highly advantageous
  • Full UK driving licence
