Position Summary

Reports to: Maintenance Manager

Direct reports: None

Working Hours: 12-hour shifts (4 on, 4 off), rotating between days (06:30-18:30) and nights (18:30-06:30).

Main Responsibilities

• Ensure smooth operation and maintenance of production equipment, focusing on electrical and mechanical systems.
• Perform reactive repairs and preventative maintenance, including electrical testing and fault diagnosis.
• Support site projects and change initiatives.
• Mentor and support Manufacturing Technicians to develop technical skills.
• Coordinate contractors, including issuing permits to work and reviewing risk assessments.

Activities include working at heights, confined spaces, hot work, and fire incident support (training provided).

Qualifications

• Indentured Engineering Apprenticeship with NVQ Level 3 or equivalent.
• Recognised electrical (17th Edition) or mechanical qualification; strong electro-mechanical skills.
• Lean experience and control skills are advantageous.
• Excellent communication and decision-making skills.
• Team player with a continuous improvement mindset.
• Computer literate.

Preferred (but not essential) qualifications:

• Multidisciplinary engineer with FMCG experience.
• City & Guilds 2391 qualification.
• Knowledge of PLC systems (Allen Bradley, Siemens).
• Experience with CMMS and SCADA systems (training provided).
