Qualifications

We currently have a vacancy for a shift technician with an electrical bias to join our engineering team at our Paper making mill at Disley.

This is a hands-on role where you will provide the mill with your skills and expertise with technical support in order to develop our equipment, technology and site standards to help maximise the mills asset capability.

To provide the mill with technical support in order to develop the equipment, technology and site standards to maintain product consistency, equipment reliability and maximize mill asset capability, in compliance with group policies.

To support the facility by:

  • providing necessary Electrical / Mechanical engineering support to a continuous operation as needed.
  • Implement maintenance procedures as required,
  • Trouble shoot and repair equipment problems.
  • Implementation of condition-based maintenance program.

Main duties will include the following:

Electrical activities
  • Carry out troubleshooting and repairs on machinery and equipment.
  • Screening and actioning of work requests where required.
  • Timely completion of Work Orders (WOs) and Maintenance Requests (MRs).
Reliability activities
  • Ensure planning, scheduling, and execution of agreed PMs.
Electrically based facilities activities
  • Carry out electrically based facility tasks where possible or supervise internal/external resources.
Safety, environmental and quality responsibilities
  • Ensure all maintenance activities comply with environmental and safety rules, and group procedures.
  • Ensure all tasks have a risk assessment or dynamic risk assessment.
  • Follow PTW and LOTO systems diligently.
Electrical attributes
  • Recognised Electrical Engineering Apprenticeship.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience maintaining complex automated manufacturing equipment.
  • Experience in small to medium improvement projects.
  • Broad instrumentation experience.
  • Experience with AC & DC variable speed drives.
  • Ability to interrogate PLC logic for fault finding.
  • Experience with SCADA / DCS systems.
  • Experience with pneumatic & hydraulic systems.
  • Basic condition monitoring knowledge.
Mechanical attributes

Some mechanical aptitude required, including basic tasks like condition monitoring, replacing drive belts, and small gearboxes.

Qualifications
  • HNC or equivalent in Electrical Engineering.
