About the Role

We currently have a vacancy for a shift technician with an electrical bias to join our engineering team at our Paper making mill at Disley.

This is a hands-on role where you will provide the mill with your skills and expertise with technical support in order to develop our equipment, technology and site standards to help maximise the mills asset capability.

Job Opportunity

To provide the mill with technical support in order to develop the equipment, technology and site standards to maintain product consistency, equipment reliability and maximize mill asset capability, in compliance with group policies

To support the facility by:

providing necessary Electrical / Mechanical engineering support to a continuous operation as needed.

Implement maintenance procedures as required,

Trouble shoot and repair equipment problems.

Implementation of condition-based maintenance program.

Main duties will include the following.

electrical activities

Carries out troubleshooting and repairs, on machinery and equipment.

The screening and actioning of work requests where required

Timely completion of Work Orders (WO's) and Maintenance Requests (MR's)

Reliability activities

Ensures the planning, scheduling and execution of agreed PM's

Electrically based facilities activities

Carry out electrically based facility tasks where possible or supervise the appropriate internal or external resource to complete tasks.

Safety, environmental and quality responsibilities

Ensures that all equipment maintenance activities are performed in compliance with environmental and safety rules, as well as with in group procedures.

Ensures that all tasks undertaken have a risk assessment or dynamic risk assessment.

Ensures that PTW and LOTO systems are followed with due care and attention.

Essential Skills

Electrical attributes

Recognised Electrical Engineering Apprenticeship

5 years' experience in maintaining complex automated manufacturing equipment

Experience in running small to medium improvement projects

Broad experience of a wide range of instrumentation

Experience of AC & DC variable speed drives

Experience of interrogating PLC logic to assist in fault finding

Experience of SCADA / DCS systems

Experience of pneumatic & hydraulic systems

Experience of basic condition monitoring

Mechanical attributes

Some mechanical aptitude will be required, this should include the ability to carry out basic mechanical tasks such as condition monitoring, replacing drive belts, and replacing small gear boxes.

Qualifications

HNC or equivalent in Electrical Engineering
