Job summary

Jones Lang LaSalle (JLL) in Glasgow is seeking a Shift Technician to join the FM services team. You will perform Planned Preventative Maintenance, respond to reactive tasks, and manage building operations on shift in a new Glasgow building.

You will work with a multidisciplinary team, ensuring HSE compliance, and lead sub-contractors as required. Relevant electrical qualifications and HV/LV switching experience are essential.

Qualifications

• Experience in a critical maintenance environment.
• Good working knowledge of BMS and critical assets (UPS, Emergency Generation, Electrical & Mechanical distribution, Air conditioning).
• Ability to interpret technical information and work with team to solve complex issues.

Responsibilities

• Oversee Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM), reactive maintenance, and help desk tasks on shift.
• Manage building operations and assets, provide holiday and sickness cover.
• Supervise staff including sub-contractors and specialists; ensure compliance with HSE and contractual requirements.
• Issue permits to work and carry out isolations via LOTO; switch HV and LV as required.

We are looking for a Shift Technician to join our team in Glasgow.

Working as part of the team delivering FM services, you will be based in a new building helping the team deliver their objectives.

Job Purpose

• To undertake all aspects of Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM), Reactive Maintenance, small projects and Help Desk Calls in accordance with both client and JLL requirements
• To manage and monitor the building operational functions
• To be responsible for the buildings operational assets and systems whilst on shift
• To issue permit to work for all specialist vendors and carryout appropriate isolations via LOTO
• To complete HV training ( tbc ) and switch HV and LV supplies as required

Aims and Objectives

• To assist and support the Building services supervisor in all functions, to ensure HSE, statutory and contractual compliance

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities

• Escalation of incidents
• All aspects of Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM), Reactive Maintenance, and Help Desk Calls managed and completed whilst on shift.
• Provide holiday and sickness cover
• Staff supervision including sub-contractors and specialist providers.
• Be proactive with regard to preventative maintenance and extra works.
• Operate JLL QA and HSE policy and procedures
• Maintain clear and legible records as required.
• Provide written incident reports as required.
• Interaction with JLL support staff, providing information as required
• Switching of HV and LV supplies as required

Occasional Allied Duties

• To deputise as BSS support as required.

Person Specification

Essential

• City & Guilds Parts 1 and 2 (Electrical Installation 2360) or recognised equivalent; or
• 18th Edition Institute of Electrical Engineers (I.E.E) Registration or recognised equivalent.
• Experience gained within a critical maintenance environment
• A good working knowledge of BMS, and critical assets and systems i.e. UPS, Emergency Generation, Electrical and Mechanical distribution, Air conditioning
• Ability to interpret technical information and work with the team to provide solutions to technical / complex issues
• Good leadership qualities, with a desire to progress within the business

• BTEC ONC Electrical/Mechanical Engineering or Building Services or recognised equivalent
