Shift Team Leader - Energy from Waste

Alecto Recruitment is seeking experienced Shift Team Leaders with a background in overseeing shift teams within the EfW sector or similar industries. This is a full-time, permanent position based in the Yorkshire area.

Job Brief

As a Shift Team Leader, you will be responsible for the day-to-day management of the Operations Team and ensuring the safe and efficient operation of the plant. You will deputise as Operations Manager, making critical decisions safely and professionally. Your key responsibilities include:

1. Managing daily objectives for the site, including operational output, logistics, long-term operational and maintenance planning, statutory compliance, resource planning, and cost control.
2. Identifying and achieving key performance indicators, establishing improvement plans and targets for the shift team.
3. Managing and being fully accountable for the core requirements of the SHE Management system.
4. Ensuring shift teams are competent both technically and behaviorally, providing support and supervision where necessary.
5. Providing strong management through precise delegation and responsibility allocation.
6. Motivating and inspiring all shift team members to contribute to a purposeful work environment.
7. Ensuring full implementation and continuous improvement of the Maintenance System.

Requirements

• A relevant technical qualification such as an ONC, HNC, or Degree in an engineering discipline.
• At least 5 years of experience in a similar role or sector.
