What is the role?

As a Shift Team Leader, you’ll play a critical role in ensuring the reliable, day-to-day operation of the plant. You’ll lead and support the shift operations team, ensuring the site runs safely, efficiently, and in compliance with health, safety, environmental, and operational standards. Whether under normal conditions or during unexpected challenges, you’ll be responsible for maintaining operational excellence and achieving company performance targets.

What you’ll be doing

In this role, you’ll be responsible for:

• Leading and developing your team – Providing strong leadership, mentoring, and performance management to ensure a high-performing shift team.
• Ensuring operational excellence – Overseeing plant operations to maintain efficiency and performance in line with company objectives.
• Prioritising health & safety – Enforcing safety protocols, applying the Company Safety Rules, and ensuring a safe working environment at all times as a Senior Authorised Person (SAP).
• Training and development – Delivering structured training programs for shift personnel, ensuring competency in equipment use, plant operations, and environmental compliance.
• Driving a strong team culture – Promoting teamwork across the operational staff and wider plant teams, fostering collaboration and engagement.
• Optimising resource management – Overseeing succession planning and development plans to ensure long-term operational capability.

What we’re looking for

Qualifications & Experience:

• HND/HNC in Engineering or a related discipline.
• A minimum of 3 years’ operational and maintenance experience in power generation, EfW, or a similar environment.
