SCINERGY Recruitment Limited is seeking a Shift Team Leader for an Energy from Waste power station in Gloucestershire. You will lead a shift team in a 24-hour operation, taking responsibility for the shift's performance, safety, and output while providing leadership outside normal office hours.

The ideal candidate has senior leadership experience in power generation or a time-served Royal Navy engineer, with strong safety knowledge, excellent communication skills and the ability to coordinate

Qualifications

• Experience as Shift Team Leader/Manager in power generation or senior Navy engineer.
• Experience in safety-critical operations and leading teams.
• Senior Authorised Person experience or SAP responsibilities.
• Knowledge of health and safety legislation and safe systems of work.
• Strong communication with stakeholders.
• Able to work in a 24-hour shift and fast-paced environment.
• Good IT skills and relevant training.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise the shift team in a 24-hour operation.
• Handle operational matters and provide leadership outside hours.
• Act as Senior Authorised Person ensuring safety rules and permits.
• Manage emergencies and coordinate with stakeholders and emergency services.
• Ensure plant operates per design criteria and permits.
• Promote safety culture and maintain plant housekeeping.
• Monitor waste acceptance and manage non-conforming waste.
• Ensure inputs/outputs processed safely and efficiently.
• Conduct performance reviews and coach team members.
• Produce incident reports, shift logs and performance data.
• Maximise plant availability and handovers; cover other Shift Team Leaders when required.

Shift Team Leader - Energy from Waste Power Station

Up to £68,500 + Bonus + Benefits

SCINERGY Recruitment are currently recruiting for a Shift Team Leader to join an operational Energy from Waste power station in Gloucestershire.

The Role

• Leading and supervising the shift team within a 24-hour operational environment
• Taking responsibility for operational matters arising during the shift and providing leadership outside normal office hours
• Acting as Senior Authorised Person and ensuring site safety rules, permits and safe systems of work are applied correctly
• Managing emergency situations and coordinating the response with internal stakeholders and emergency services
• Ensuring the facility operates in line with design criteria, planning conditions, environmental permits and safety requirements
• Promoting a strong safety culture and maintaining high standards of plant housekeeping
• Monitoring waste acceptance and ensuring non-conforming waste is managed appropriately
• Ensuring facility inputs and outputs are processed accurately, safely and efficiently
• Conducting performance reviews and providing coaching, guidance and competence development to team members
• Producing detailed incident reports, shift logs and operational performance data
• Maximising plant availability, efficiency and reliability while delivering effective handovers and covering other Shift Team Leaders when required

About You

• Shift Team Leader / Shift Manager experience within a power generation environment or similar or as a time-served as a senior Royal Navy Engineer
• Experience working in demanding, fast-paced and safety-critical operational environments
• Proven leadership experience supervising and developing operational teams
• Senior Authorised Person experience, or the technical competence to fulfil SAP responsibilities
• Strong knowledge of health and safety legislation, safe systems of work and operational compliance requirements
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to coordinate internal and external stakeholders
• Strong analytical, problem-solving and decision-making abilities, with the confidence to remain calm under pressure
• A flexible and adaptable approach to working within a 24-hour shift system
• The ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a wider operations and maintenance team
• Good IT skills and completion of relevant technical training and competency requirements
