We are looking for an experienced Shift Supervisor to lead the operational production team and ensure the delivery of manufacturing performance in accordance with business objectives and strategic plans.
Responsibilities:
- Lead, motivate, and develop the team to meet output requirements and quality standards while following all H&S guidelines.
- Review team performance regularly to identify areas for improvement and support individual development through performance reviews and personal development plans.
- Achieve shift KPI targets such as line efficiencies, material usage variances, and absenteeism, with specific targets for Safety, Quality, Productivity, and Waste, monitored periodically.
- Ensure the availability of raw and packing materials as per the production schedule.
- Identify and eliminate points of loss in the production line.
- Maintain and exceed site-specific Quality, Housekeeping, and Hygiene standards.
- Complete all required shift documentation accurately for compliance with BRC, ISO, and other quality standards.
- Communicate effectively with the team through regular briefings to maximize shift efficiency.
- Ensure all paperwork is completed properly, accurately, and on time.
- Assist in investigating and resolving non-conformance issues.
- Follow proper shift handover procedures for smooth plant operation and provide feedback to the production manager and team.
- Record, monitor, and analyze plant performance data; participate in daily meetings to discuss performance.
- Monitor absence levels and conduct return-to-work interviews.
- Report people issues to the Production Manager or HR as necessary.
- Perform any other duties related to the role.
Skills, Knowledge & Experience:
- Solid experience in a production supervisory role, ideally within the food industry.
- Relevant Food Manufacturing qualifications are desirable.
- Good knowledge of Quality Management Systems such as BRC and HACCP; knowledge of Warehouse Management Systems is beneficial.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent people management and organizational skills.
- Flexibility to work hours necessary for the role.
- A positive, 'can-do' attitude with a logical and flexible approach, taking accountability.
