Our friendly team in Chorley has an exciting opportunity for a Shift Supervisor to join on a full-time, permanent basis.

As a Shift Supervisor, you will support the Shift Managers in the day-to-day warehouse operations, ensuring all service and cost targets are met or exceeded, all Health & Safety standards are maintained, and the highest standards of housekeeping are upheld.

Salary: £30,231 per annum.

Working hours: Monday-Friday, 6am-2pm/2pm-10pm, rotating with flexibility to cover weekends when required.

Key Duties of a Shift Supervisor:

  • Assist the Shift Manager in coordinating warehouse activities.
  • Schedule and supervise warehouse staff.
  • Ensure timely completion of all warehouse tasks.
  • Communicate plans with Operations Controllers to ensure 100% customer satisfaction.
  • Ensure compliance with Health & Safety policies.
  • Maintain records of team performance and inform the Shift Manager of potential disruptions.
  • Organize training and development, including on-the-job coaching, and evaluate training effectiveness.
  • Provide regular feedback on team and individual performance, including behavioral issues and areas for improvement.
  • Manage levels of planned and unplanned absences, ensuring adequate coverage.
  • Participate actively in management meetings, offering suggestions to improve efficiency, customer focus, and team collaboration.

Qualifications:

  • High attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Knowledge of on-site systems.
  • Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Leadership skills to motivate and supervise staff.
  • Excellent time management and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and networking skills with suppliers and customers.
  • Knowledge of SAP, PKMS, Road Runner is a plus but not essential.
