Job Description:

Brief Description: Lead the station team to deliver excellent customer service on a shift basis, ensuring work is undertaken safely, to relevant standards, and providing a first-class customer experience.

Note: This role requires the incumbent to hold valid security vetting clearance. Any offer is conditional on obtaining clearance prior to start date.

About the role (External):
Key Accountabilities:
  1. Supervise the team, including agency staff, on a shift basis to maintain a safe environment and deliver excellent customer service.
  2. Undertake and direct station staff activities in line with safety procedures, ensuring checks are recorded and non-compliances addressed.
  3. Collaborate with station users to create a safe and secure environment, preventing accidents, and reporting incidents.
  4. Respond to emergencies and incidents according to procedures, coordinating with stakeholders.
  5. Provide customer service support and assist in raising service standards by monitoring operations and providing feedback.
  6. Conduct shift briefings, assign responsibilities, and manage equipment use and coverage.
  7. Liaise with police forces to implement crime prevention plans.
  8. Perform regular station checks, proactively address hazards, and log occurrences.
  9. Follow emergency plans diligently and ensure team compliance.
Skills, Experience, and Qualifications:

Essential:

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Experience handling various situations assertively
  • Strong customer service skills
  • GCSE or equivalent in Maths and English
  • Experience managing challenging situations
  • Understanding of Health, Safety, and Environmental regulations
  • Ability to complete Station Incident Officer Training

Desirable:

  • Experience supervising a team
  • IOSH / NEBOSH qualification
  • Additional conversational language skills
