About the role

Do you want to be part of our energetic team of HGV/PSV/bus mechanical engineers and maintenance staff repairing our fleet of buses? If yes, then this Shift Mechanic position could just be the job for you! It offers technical up-skilling and career progression.

The successful bus mechanic will be responsible for the following duties:

• Diagnose and carry out vehicle repairs, servicing, and parts replacement
• Diagnose vehicle faults and specify the correct method of repair and parts to be used
• Carry out vehicle servicing and routine vehicle examinations using hand held data capture devices if applicable
• Attend on-road vehicle breakdowns and recoveries
• Carry out vehicle road testing where necessary to identify specific vehicle defects or following remedial repair.

Working hours: Alternating shifts

Day shifts pay-rate: £18.05

• 06:00 - 14:00

Night shifts pay-rate: £20.17

• 20:00 - 06:00

About you

• Do you have at minimum a Level 3 NVQ standard or equivalent qualification as a HGV/PSV or bus mechanic and experience working on HGV, bus, or coach?
• Do you have a flexible approach to working hours?
• A PCV licence is desirable; the ability to obtain a PCV licence is essential (we will help you obtain this)
• Do you have a valid UK driver's licence?
• Experience of working with buses & coaches would be an advantage, but any vehicle mechanic experience will be considered (HGV)
• Do you have vehicle/autoelectrical experience/knowledge?
