Job summary

Hunter Selection is working with a Gloucester-based manufacturing business to recruit a Shift Production Manager. The role offers £45,000 - £55,000 plus benefits and a real opportunity to influence site performance.

You will lead production teams across shifts, drive KPI delivery for safety, quality and productivity, and collaborate with Engineering, Quality and Supply Chain to deliver continuous improvements and on-time customer fulfilment.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Production Manager or similar leadership role.
• Strong leadership within a manufacturing or production environment.
• Experience driving continuous improvement and KPI performance.
• Health & safety focused approach.

Responsibilities

• Manage and lead production teams across shift operations.

Shift Production Manager

A new and exciting opportunity has arisen for a Shift Production Manager to join a well established manufacturing business in Gloucester.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an ambitious leader with experience in a fast-paced production environment to join a business investing heavily in its operations and future growth. You'll be responsible for leading a production team, driving operational performance, and ensuring safety, quality and productivity targets are achieved.

Role & Responsibilities:

• Manage and lead production teams across shift operations
• Drive performance against production, quality and safety KPIs
• Ensure production schedules and customer requirements are met
• Lead, motivate and develop team leaders and operators
• Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives
• Monitor labour utilisation, efficiency and operational costs
• Ensure compliance with Health & Safety and company procedures
• Work closely with Engineering, Quality and Supply Chain teams to optimise performance
• Investigate production issues and implement corrective actions

Knowledge, Skills & Experience:

• Previous experience as a Production Manager, Shift Manager, Manufacturing Manager or Operations Manager
• Strong leadership experience within a manufacturing or production environment
• Knowledge of continuous improvement methodologies
• Proven ability to manage KPIs and drive performance improvements
• Strong communication and people management skills
• Health & Safety focused approach
• Experience within FMCG, Food, Packaging, Automotive, Chemical or General Manufacturing environments would be advantageous
