Job summary

Mitie Group plc. is seeking a Shift Multi Skilled Technician with an electrical bias for the Royal Victoria Infirmary & Freeman Hospital in Newcastle.

The role covers 4 on, 4 off days and nights to support critical healthcare environments. The position requires experience across LV, lighting, fire alarms, emergency lighting, nurse calls, and ventilation, with a focus on safe, compliant operations and proactive maintenance.

Qualifications

• Previous experience of electrical and/or multi-disciplined maintenance, including LV, lighting, fire alarms, emergency lighting systems, nurse call, DHW, LTHW, and ventilation systems.

Responsibilities

• Ensure day-to-day planned preventative maintenance is completed in line with contractual obligations.
• Maintain plant and equipment per statutory requirements and guidelines.
• Respond to reactive calls within contractual time scales and complete job sheets/reports.

Role Responsibilities

• Ensure that all day-to-day planned preventative maintenance activities of M&E maintenance is completed in line with contractual obligations.
• Ensure all plant and equipment are maintained in accordance with O&M manuals, best practice and relevant guidelines/legislation.
• Respond to reactive calls in line with contractual time scales and complete job sheets, reports and documentation as required.
• Carry out testing on emergency lighting systems (BS EN 5266), fixed wire testing (BS EN 7671), and lightning protection systems (BS EN 62305), rectifying faults where necessary.
• Assist in supervising subcontractors, carry out isolations, and follow SSOW, policies and procedures at all times.

Required Qualifications

• Previous experience of electrical and/or multi-disciplined maintenance, including LV, lighting, fire alarms, emergency lighting systems, nurse call, DHW, LTHW, and ventilation systems.
• Good interpersonal skills with strong attention to detail and experience in Health & Safety legislation.
• Ability to work independently using own initiative, with excellent customer awareness and team working skills.
