Job summary

Omega Plc in the United Kingdom is seeking a Contract Mechanical Maintenance Engineer to cover peak periods on shift. You will be responsible for a mix of planned and reactive maintenance to keep production lines running efficiently, fault finding, and rapid breakdown response on motors, drives, conveyors, packaging machinery and robots.

You will perform preventative maintenance and participate in continuous improvement to enhance equipment performance, uptime and KPI delivery across the site.

Qualifications

• Apprentice trained or NVQ Level 3 in mechanical maintenance.
• Experience with production-line equipment: motors, drives, conveyors and packaging machinery.
• Strong fault-finding and commitment to continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

• Plan and perform both planned and reactive maintenance to maximise line efficiency.
• Fault-find and diagnose faults across plant equipment.
• Attend onsite breakdowns with rapid response.
• Carry out planned preventive maintenance on automation machinery (pneumatics, hydraulics, conveyors and robots).
• Improve plant uptime and maintenance KPIs through proactive work.
• Support continuous improvement of processes and equipment on site.
