Job description

Equans is seeking a Shift Mechanical Engineer to join our team at the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh Hospital on a permanent basis. This full-time position involves working 37 hours per week on a 4 on, 4 off shift pattern, including nights and weekends. We offer a competitive salary and benefits package.

Responsibilities
  1. Perform fault finding on complex medical gas systems, pressure heating water systems, critical systems, and pressurized steam systems.
  2. Utilize cause and effect analysis and detailed examination to identify solutions, using relevant drawings and schematics.
  3. Conduct planned preventative maintenance, inspections, commissioning, and testing according to established procedures, completing reports and markups as needed.
  4. Operate all relevant tools and equipment safely, complying with EQUANS guidelines and safety protocols.
Work Environment

The role involves using analytical test devices, specialist tools, workshop and portable electrical equipment, welding equipment, emergency generators, and medical gas equipment such as suction units and geared drives.
