A leading recruitment agency is seeking a Mechanical bias Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer for a prestigious FMCG client in Deeside, Wales. The role involves conducting planned maintenance and swiftly responding to equipment breakdowns. Candidates must have completed a relevant engineering apprenticeship and possess experience in manufacturing. This position offers a competitive salary and follows a 4 on 4 off shift pattern.

Qualifications

  • Must have served a formal mechanical or electrical engineering apprenticeship.
  • Experience in FMCG or manufacturing industries required.
  • Capability to perform electrical, mechanical, instrumentation, and automation fault finding.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct planned and predictive maintenance of processing and packaging assets.
  • Respond to breakdowns swiftly.
  • Identify faults and take action as required.
  • Lead or support teams in machinery change overs and set ups.
  • Manufacture and repair component parts for machinery.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement projects.

Skills

Time served apprenticeship or equivalent
Recognised Engineering qualification

Due to huge year on year growth my client, a highly successful brand in the Food/ FMCG industry are seeking a mechanical bias multi-skilled shift engineer to assist with on site projects, continuous improvement and plant maintenance.

Ensuring downtime remains minimal and assisting with all planned maintenance tasks, the successful candidate will have served a formal mechanical or electrical engineering apprenticeship and have previous experience within FMCG/ manufacturing industries. You will provide engineering support to production to ensure the efficient performance of all equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct planned and predictive maintenance of processing and packaging assets
  • Respond to breakdowns
  • Identify faults (electrical, mechanical, instrumentation, automation, and pneumatics) and action as required
  • Lead or support operational teams with machinery change overs and set ups
  • Manufacture and repair component parts for machinery
  • Contribute to continuous improvement projects to optimise assets or processes
Skills & Experience
  • Time served apprenticeship or equivalent
  • Recognised Engineering qualification
  • Previous maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Competent electrical / fault finding & analysis skills
