Shift Manager - Perm Nights

Job description

Our client is a leading manufacturing company within its industry and they are seeking an experienced Shift Manager to join their busy manufacturing team.

Responsibilities:

1. Ensure the smooth running of the production team on a rotating shift basis.
2. Meet targeted Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) in areas such as Safety, Training, Employee Engagement, Efficiencies, Quality, and Material Usage.
3. Lead and motivate the team, fostering a positive and productive work environment.
4. Liaise with other departments to ensure efficient operations and timely customer service.
5. Maintain adherence to health and safety policies and promote a culture of safety.
6. Plan and implement training programmes for team members, ensuring their continuous development and multi-skilling.
7. Oversee recruitment and onboarding processes for new employees.
8. Monitor and improve quality systems, actively seeking opportunities for enhancement.
9. Collaborate with other departments to optimise production efficiency and meet customer expectations.
10. Analyse performance data and implement necessary improvements to drive productivity.
11. Ensure comprehensive shift handovers for smooth operation continuity.

Essential (Knowledge, skills, qualifications, experience):

1. Demonstrated experience managing large teams on a shift basis.
2. Proven ability to develop and train teams, maximising their potential.
3. Team Leader/Supervisory/Management qualification or equivalent experience.
4. IOSH 'Managing Safely' qualification.
5. Excellent knowledge of safety protocols and procedures.
6. Familiarity with ERP systems and manufacturing processes.
7. Strong written and verbal communication skills.
8. Ability to work strategically and reactively in a fast-paced environment.

Desirable (Knowledge, skills, qualifications, experience):

1. Understanding of Continuous Improvement methodologies.
2. Prior experience in a fast-paced manufacturing industry.
3. Proficiency in technical procedures and product specifications.

Technologies:

1. Proficient with ERP systems.

Working hours:

Night shift 10pm-6am
