Joining us as a Warehouse Shift Manager (Nightshift) in our Local Fulfilment Centre (LFC) means being part of a dynamic and customer-centric organisation committed to delivering a safe, efficient, and first-class service. In this role, you will provide strong leadership across the LFC operation overnight, ensuring safe, efficient, and first-class service delivery to our customers. Your focus will be on implementing site and centrally-driven continuous improvement initiatives, as well as delivering site KPI performances to meet budgetary requirements and achieve an optimum cost to serve. Leading and developing the team through ongoing coaching and feedback, you’ll ensure effective management to deliver great results. Additionally, you’ll oversee van resource allocation, be accountable for stock inventory and maintenance, and respond to customer demands and volume fluctuations by flexing operational resources. Identifying and nurturing talent within the team to build a succession pipeline will be crucial, as well as creating a customer-centric culture by engaging and inspiring the team. With attention to detail, you will ensure operations comply with legal and safety frameworks, recruit and manage resources to meet headcount requirements, and actively contribute to business transformation efforts.
As an experienced leader, you’ll have a proven track record in managing a large and diverse team within a unionised environment. With strong communication and decision-making skills, you know how to respond to customer demands and fluctuations at pace, ensuring the efficient delivery of a first-class service. You will have knowledge of warehouse and retail operations, multi-drop delivery, and customer final mile delivery, enabling you to make informed decisions to support desired customer outcomes. Your inspirational leadership will motivate colleagues at all levels, fostering a team environment where colleagues understand the impact of their actions on service and business results.
