Job summary

Biscuit International UK is seeking an experienced Shift Manager to join the Gateshead production team. You will be responsible for safe, efficient and effective manufacturing operations on shift, reporting to the Operations Director and leading Product and Pack Team Leads.

You will drive OTIF delivery, maintain health, safety and food safety standards, manage production plans within budget, and lead continuous improvement initiatives across cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

• Experience leading teams in manufacturing or FMCG environments.
• Strong people leadership and performance management.
• Understanding of health, safety and food safety requirements.
• Experience driving productivity, efficiency and cost control.
• Confident communicator with strong organisational skills.
• Ability to work logically, systematically and under pressure.
• Lean or continuous improvement experience desirable.
• Food manufacturing experience desirable.

Responsibilities

• Lead and control all manufacturing activity on shift to deliver OTIF, quality and cost targets.
• Manage and support Product and Pack Team Leads and their teams.
• Drive a strong health, safety and wellbeing culture across the shift.
• Deliver production plans within budget, labour and efficiency targets.
• Evaluate daily performance and implement proactive improvement actions.
• Ensure GMP, hygiene and audit-ready standards are always maintained.
• Lead people processes including absence management, holidays, training and development.
• Drive learning culture and continuous development across teams.
• Lead RCA activity for non-conformances and implement corrective actions.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with Technical, Engineering, Hygiene and Supply Chain.
• Support and deliver continuous improvement and project activity.

Shift Manager

We’re seeking an experienced Shift Manager to join our Production team in Gateshead and take responsibility for the safe, efficient and effective delivery of manufacturing operations on shift.

Reporting to the Operations Director, this role leads Product and Pack Team Leads and their teams, ensuring production plans are achieved while maintaining the highest standards of health & safety, quality, food safety and people management.
