Job description

Blue Arrow is currently recruiting for a Nightshift Shift Manager working in West Lothian. You will work in a busy manufacturing facility leading a team of 14 staff.

The role involves working 4 on 4 off, 12-hour shifts.

The main responsibilities include ensuring the management and delivery of key manufacturing metrics such as safety, food safety, product quality, customer order fulfilment, and service, while controlling costs related to labour, materials, and utilities.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Ensure site health and safety standards are enforced throughout the area.
2. Complete accident investigations and participate in safety activities.
3. Manage 'clean as you go' procedures and GMP audits to maintain hygiene and efficiency.
4. Lead and support the shift team to meet KPIs and improve employee engagement.
5. Manage training and development plans for team members.
6. Oversee the hygiene team and coordinate product changeovers and clean downs.
7. Control raw material usage using SAP data and participate in improvement initiatives.
8. Achieve KPI targets, identify improvement opportunities, and share best practices.
9. Deliver the production plan, monitor performance, and conduct RCA on issues.
10. Implement performance management using lean techniques.
11. Communicate effectively, report performance metrics, and manage shift handovers.
12. Participate in projects to improve manufacturing performance.

Essential Requirements:

• Previous production or manufacturing management experience.
• Strong management skills.
• Proficiency in PC use, especially Excel.
• Customer-driven with a collaborative, hands-on approach.
