Location: Palethorpes – Market Drayton (Part of The Compleat Food Group)
Salary: £50-55,000
Hours: Monday to Thursday, 18:00 – 06:00
Full-time, Permanent



The Compleat Food Group is a new kind of food company built on strong values, market-leading brands, and great people. We’re now
looking for an experienced and confident Shift Manager – Nights to lead the night operation at our Palethorpes site, ensuring the
successful delivery of SQDCP performance (Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost, People) through strong leadership and operational
excellence.

Key Responsibilities

Safety, Health & Environment

* Full accountability for SHE performance across the night shift
* Complete audits, monitor pre-start checks, and follow up on outstanding actions
* Take a proactive approach to reduce incidents and near misses



Food Safety & Quality

* Ensure compliance with food safety standards including HACCP and allergen/speciation control
* Work closely with QA to address non-conformances and drive improvements
* Ensure documentation accuracy, GMP, and equipment calibration standards are met



People Leadership

* Lead and support a team of Group Leaders and operational colleagues
* Manage team resourcing, absence, training, and succession planning
* Handle disciplinary and grievance matters with confidence and fairness
* Communicate business updates, promote engagement, and reward performance



Operational Delivery

* Drive performance across SQDCP targets through structured shift management
* Use problem-solving tools (e.g. 5 Whys) to resolve operational challenges
* Maintain and update SOPs and safe systems of work
* Lead cross-functional collaboration to deliver solutions and continuous improvement



What We’re Looking For

* Leadership experience in food manufacturing or a similar fast-paced environment
* Strong knowledge of Health & Safety and Food Safety standards
* Skilled in managing and developing people across a multi-skilled team
* Proactive, resilient, and results-focused approach
* Strong communication and decision-making skills
