7 Steel UK in Cardiff is seeking a Shift Manager to direct manufacturing operations safely within one of our Hot Rolling Mills. You will ensure production targets are met by optimizing resources and collaborating with the production management team.

The role requires an experienced manager from heavy industry, with a passion for leading and developing teams, identifying training needs, and coaching colleagues to drive improvements in safety, quality and efficiency.

Qualifications

• Seasoned manager with heavy industry experience.
• Ability to lead and develop diverse teams.
• Proven in identifying training needs and coaching.
• Experience coordinating mechanical and electrical crafts and operators.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate a multi-disciplined team of mechanical and electrical craftsmen, quality control, and production operatives.
• Ensure adherence to safety standards, conducting safety tours, audits, and investigations to maintain the highest safety practices in line with company policies.
• Manage and supervise daily operations, including production activities, material flow, inventory, and adherence to production schedules.
• Monitor and control shift resources, including overtime, manpower, and material usage, to optimize cost and productivity.
• Foster a culture of continuous improvement, driving Total Quality Management initiatives and performance enhancement.
