Job description

We are looking for a highly versatile, professional, and self-motivated individual to join our management team at Johnsons Hotel Linen. This role involves supporting the smooth operation of our laundry services within a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

As a Shift Manager, you will oversee our Late Team in a hands-on position that is vital to the success of our business. Your responsibilities will include:

  1. Assisting the Production Manager with daily operational issues to ensure smooth production processes.
  2. Ensuring all production areas are adequately staffed, resourced, and efficiently utilized to meet operational targets.
  3. Managing staff probation periods and conducting performance reviews at one, three, and six months.
  4. Taking responsibility for staff training, including on-the-job and health & safety training.
  5. Ensuring compliance with Health and Safety legislation, policies, and procedures, and promoting a safety culture.
  6. Enforcing the use of uniforms, PPE, and handling aids at all times.
  7. Maintaining excellent customer service by ensuring timely and quality production outputs.
  8. Reviewing staff performance and identifying training and development needs.
  9. Implementing safe systems of work in collaboration with the Production Manager.
  10. Fostering a culture of teamwork across departments and shifts.
  11. Developing clear communication channels within all operational areas.
  12. Collaborating with the loading/packing department to manage stock levels and identify shortages.
  13. Managing staff welfare and ensuring compliance with relevant legislation.
  14. Monitoring holiday bookings and staff productivity systems.
  15. Overseeing linen stock checks and supply accuracy.
  16. Maintaining factory cleanliness and housekeeping, including outside yard areas.
  17. Ensuring the factory is clean and tidy at the start and end of each shift.
  18. Performing other ad hoc duties as required.

We offer a competitive salary, opportunities for career progression, and a modern production facility. The working hours are Sunday to Thursday, from 5:00 pm to 2:30 am, with 28 days of holiday entitlement.
