We are looking for an Engineering Shift Manager to join our Manufacturing Operation in Grimsby.
Responsibilities:
- Minimize Machinery Downtime: Proactively maintain and respond swiftly to equipment breakdowns to ensure continuous production.
- Enhance Equipment Performance: Continuously seek improvements through process optimization, upgrades, and data analysis.
- Engage the Engineering Team: Foster a positive work environment, provide training, and recognize achievements to motivate staff.
- Lead Asset Care Programme: Support strategies for asset maintenance, longevity, and cost reduction.
- Hands-On Equipment Involvement: Directly participate in repairs and optimizations, setting an example for the team.
- Coordinate Maintenance: Work with the Maintenance team to plan and prioritize activities, preventing disruptions.
- Manage Crisis Incidents: Handle accidents and near misses, conduct investigations, and implement corrective actions.
- Maintain Discipline: Enforce discipline and grievance procedures to uphold standards and address issues.
About You:
- Qualifications to NVQ level 3 or equivalent (e.g., ONC, BTEC in mechanical/electrical engineering)
- Proven experience in an engineering fault-finding role within FMCG, ideally food industry
- Experience in people management and delivering results through teams
- Understanding of HACCP principles; IEE 18th edition wiring qualification is a plus
- Excellent communication skills
- Assertiveness and decision-making ability
- Positive attitude and strong work ethic
