We’re recruiting for a Shift Manager to join our team, working day time shifts on a 4 on 4 off pattern, supporting operations at site level and ensuring the highest standards of safety, service and efficiency. This is a hands-on, customer-facing role where you’ll be managing daily plans, leading your team, and working closely with our customer to deliver an outstanding service.

We’re offering a salary up to £38,000, 28 days holiday (INC bank holidays), with the option to buy additional leave. You’ll also have access to a variety of high street discounts, cycle to work scheme, a workplace pension and many other perks.

What you’ll do on a typical day
  • Lead, coach and support your team to deliver results, holding regular 1-2-1s and team briefings

  • Manage daily transport operations, including planning, debriefs, vehicle loading and route coverage

  • Act as a key point of contact for our customer, providing updates and resolving issues quickly

  • Monitor safety, compliance and service performance, ensuring all procedures are followed

  • Oversee absence management, RTWs and weekend planning, including agency requirements

  • Handle incidents, breakdowns and defects, ensuring issues are logged and resolved efficiently

  • Complete daily reports and handovers to ensure smooth communication between shifts

What you need to succeed
  • Strong people management and leadership skills

  • Experience working in a transport or logistics environment, ideally within 3PL

  • Excellent problem-solving and organisational abilities

  • Strong IT skills (Word, Excel, Outlook) with attention to detail

  • Confident communicator with great customer service skills

  • The ability to work under pressure, prioritise effectively and keep calm in a fast-paced setting
