Job summary

Simply Recruitment Group in St Helens is seeking a Shift Manager to join a permanent role at a modern manufacturing facility. The role operates on a 4 on, 4 off pattern with 2x12 hour days and 2x12 hour nights, supervising a team of production operators and ensuring targets are met.

You will drive safety, quality, productivity and efficiency, lead continuous improvement, and collaborate with Engineering and Maintenance to resolve issues. Plastics, vacuum forming or FMCG backgrounds are valued.

Qualifications

• Experience in shift-based production environments.
• Ability to lead and develop a team of operators.
• Strong understanding of safety, quality, productivity, and efficiency targets.
• Proficiency with ERP/MRP systems and reporting.
• Good IT skills and ability to use MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Lead, support and develop a team of production operators and manufacturing personnel.
• Organise labour and allocate resources to meet production requirements.
• Monitor attendance, performance, productivity and overall team effectiveness.
• Provide coaching, training and development to team members.
• Ensure finished products meet quality standards and maintain records.
• Take an active role in health, safety and compliance across the shift.
• Communicate production performance and priorities across the business.
