Job summary

GXO Logistics in Wakefield is hiring an experienced Shift Manager to oversee the recycling operation at our Morrisons RRU. The role is full-time, permanent, and requires working any 5 days from 7, 13:00–21:00.

You will manage a fast-paced operation handling returned products and equipment, with focus on recycling and reuse. The salary is up to £36,000 per annum with 30 days of annual leave including bank holidays.

• Excellent understanding of health and safety policies and procedures.
• Experience leading teams, providing guidance, coaching, mentoring, and creating development plans.
• Ability to communicate effectively in both written and verbal capacity.

Here at GXO, we are currently recruiting for a Shift Manager to join our team in Wakefield, supporting our customer, Morrisons. As a Shift Manager at our Equipment Management operation for our Morrisons RRU, you will be responsible for the management of the fast paced, busy operation handling all returned products and equipment from their stores. It’s all about recycling and reuse!

This is a full time, permanent position, working any 5 days from 7, 13:00 till 21:00.

What you’ll do on a typical day:

• Oversee the running of the recycling operation
• Ensure that the site is utilising resource effectively, monitoring headcount, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness
• Promote and develop a health and safety culture on site in line with the company’s policies
• Get involved with performance management, KPI monitoring and drive continuous improvement initiatives
