Job summary

Greggs plc is looking for a Shift Manager in Greater Manchester to lead a fast‑paced team and oversee shop operations when the Manager is away. You will drive customer satisfaction, manage breaks, and ensure products are prepared to standard across in‑shop, Click+Collect and delivery channels.

You’ll inspire and guide colleagues, maintain high service levels, and support a positive working culture within a busy bakery environment.

Qualifications

• Proven leadership abilities in a customer‑facing setting.
• Experience supervising a small team.
• Able to motivate colleagues and deliver great service.

Responsibilities

• Inspire the team to deliver excellent results and uphold shop standards.
• Lead by example and serve customers quickly and warmly.
• Prepare products, including sandwiches and oven management.
• Keep displays stocked and shop tidy for a great customer experience.
• Ensure the shop is clean, presentable and well‑maintained.

Job description

Join us as a Shift Manager and you’ll be part of a team that loves putting customers first. As part of the management team, you’ll be responsible for looking after the shop when the Manager is not around. You will engage and motivate the team, and ensure they have what they need to do an amazing job.

We serve our customers across a number of different channels: in‑shop, delivery, Click+Collect and drive‑thru. You'll lead the way in making sure customers have a brilliant experience when shopping with us – whether they order in store or online.

During a typical shift you can expect to

• Inspire the team to deliver amazing results and maintain the excellent standards of the shop
• Lead by example and serve our customers in a fast and friendly manner
• Prepare our much‑loved products, including making sandwiches and managing the ovens
• Ensure our displays are fully stocked at all times, with plenty of choice available for our customers
• Keep the shop looking clean, tidy and presentable
