Job description

Are you a First Line Manager looking for your next step in your career? Perhaps you’re currently a Warehouse Shift Manager looking for a change? If you’re ready to give your best shot, this is the role for you!

We’re currently looking for a Shift Manager to join us at our Bromford gate (Birmingham) site to support the delivery of the warehouse and transport operations daily.

This is a 9 month fixed term contract, working on a shift pattern of Monday Friday, 7am-4pm, flexibility though will be required

What you’ll do on a typical day:

  • Efficient planning of staffing levels to meet production targets, considering overtime or holiday cover requirements.
  • Encourage and provide guidance to employees to ensure operational targets are met, identify and manage performance issues in accordance with company policy.
  • Ensure staff adheres to H&S policy including the correct wearing of PPE and other requirements relating to care of equipment, at all times.
  • To organise, prioritise and manage the activities within the operation to ensure deadlines are met

What you need to succeed at GXO:

  • Experience leading a team of warehouse colleagues within a large fast paced and FMCG environment
  • Strong IT skills, including warehouse management systems and Microsoft Office
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Previous experience in a role focussing on continuous improvement would be advantageous
