Purolite, an Ecolab company, the world leader in resin-based separation, purification and extraction technology, is seeking a Shift Maintenance Technician at our state-of-the-art manufacturing site in Llantrisant, Wales.

We are looking for a Shift Maintenance Technician to work within the UK Engineering team, contributing to the efficient day-to-day operation of our manufacturing plant.

Your role will involve working in Purolite’s Agarose Manufacturing Facility to ensure all mechanical and electrical equipment is safe, functional, and maintained to high standards. Troubleshooting will be a key part of your responsibilities to support production and safe operation, helping us meet manufacturing output targets. This role is suitable for candidates with mechanical or electrical expertise.

What you’ll do:

  • Ensure continuous operation of the Agarose Manufacturing Facility’s mechanical and electrical equipment through hands-on maintenance
  • Collaborate with the Plant Engineering team, proactively performing preventive maintenance, support visits, calibration, reactive repairs, inspections, and other tasks to maintain production
  • Develop maintenance procedures and related documentation, ensuring compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards
  • Work safely on-site, adhering to safety procedures
  • Partner with Process Engineers, Electrical Engineers, and other staff on troubleshooting and improvement projects
  • Ensure all maintenance work, internal and contracted, is performed correctly, safely, and documented properly
  • Act as a key stakeholder, providing remote support and being available for call-outs as defined
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management

What you'll need:

  • Experience diagnosing and repairing mechanical, pneumatic, and electrical control/automation systems
  • Knowledge of three-phase motors, drives, and instrumentation (flow, pressure, temperature, level)
  • Ability to read mechanical and electrical drawings
  • Strong report writing and procedural documentation skills
  • Capability to follow complex instructions and record work accurately
  • Ability to work at heights and handle heavy equipment
  • Basic workshop skills
  • HNC qualification in engineering or a relevant apprenticeship with experience

Desirable but not essential:

  • Experience working in a chemical environment
  • Experience with Mechanical and Electrical Maintenance in hazardous areas
  • Knowledge of 18th Edition Wiring Regulations
  • Familiarity with DSEAR and ATEX zones
  • Experience with PLC systems, Control Panels, HMI's, and SCADA Systems (preferably Siemens S7-1500)
