Job summary

Biffa is seeking a skilled Shift Fitter at Poplars AD Plant to maintain and repair plant equipment, ensuring safe, efficient and reliable operation. Reporting to the Shift Supervisor, you will deliver planned and reactive maintenance across the site.

With 2+ years in mechanical/electrical fitting and strong diagnostic skills, you will support installation work, drive uptime and collaborate with operations to minimise downtime.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years' experience in a Mechanical or Electrical Fitter role.
• Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
• Experience working in a fast-paced process, manufacturing, waste, water or industrial environment.
• Understanding of planned preventative maintenance principles.
• Ability to prioritise and respond effectively to breakdowns.
• Preferred Mechanical or Electrical Engineering qualification.

Poplars AD Plant, Cannock (WS11 8NQ)
Salary: £40,560.00 per annum
Hours: Average 42 hours per week
Shift Pattern: 4 Days On, 4 Days Off, 4 Nights On, 4 Days Off
Day Shifts: 07:00 - 19:00 | Night Shifts: 19:00 - 07:00
Shift Allowance: 10% additional payment for night shifts worked between 19:00 and 07:00
Cover Shifts: Plus paid 26 cover shifts per year
We're looking for a skilled Shift Fitter to join our team at Poplars AD Plant. Reporting to the Shift Supervisor, you'll play a key role in keeping our anaerobic digestion facility running safely, efficiently and reliably through proactive maintenance and rapid fault response.
