Job summary

Wagstaff Recruitment is seeking a Shift Engineer for a large UK manufacturing site in the South East London area. The role involves leading scheduled maintenance, collaborating with a shift technician, and driving improvements in equipment performance and reliability.

The position offers progression opportunities, with emphasis on safety, approvals, and on-site engineering excellence. Salary to £46-48k plus benefits; permanent role based in Dartford/Bexley area.

Qualifications

• Electrical Installation 18th Edition is required.
• Experience in Electrical Installation Maintenance.
• Mechanical Fabrication/Maintenance knowledge.
• Electronic fault finding to component level.
• Ability to work with management and teams.

Responsibilities

• Ensure all scheduled maintenance tasks are completed on time.
• Collaborate with technician on alternate shift for handovers.
• Provide technical insight to improve equipment performance and reliability.
• Contribute to cost-reduction and spare parts optimization.
• Carry out equipment repairs safely and efficiently.
• Perform additional engineering tasks as directed by management.
• Report safety concerns promptly and follow procedures.
• Oversee external contractors to ensure safety compliance.
• Adhere to site safety procedures and engineering standards.
• Maintain communication between maintenance and production teams.
