Job summary
MTrec Recruitment is seeking an experienced Shift Maintenance Engineer to join their team on a permanent basis. The role involves multi-skilled electrical-biased maintenance on a wide range of manufacturing equipment, reporting to the Maintenance Manager, with a focus on reactive breakdown repair and scheduled PPM.
The candidate will work across shifts, support safety initiatives, and coordinate with contractors as needed.
Qualifications
- Must hold engineering qualifications (NVQ/City & Guilds/ONC).
- Electrical bias with time-served experience in engineering/manufacturing.
- Experience with plastics processing/temperature control is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Ensure compliance with Health & Safety policies and report issues.
- Complete planned preventive maintenance (PPM) and safety-critical tasks within deadlines.
- Manage maintenance work orders: defects, planning, scheduling, and recording maintenance activities.
- Communicate information across shifts and departments.
- Oversee contractors during out-of-hours work, ensuring safe systems and risk assessments.
- Participate in safety reporting and continuous improvement initiatives.
