Shift Maintenance Engineer (known internally as Technical Coordinator)

Location: Hellaby (Home of KP Nuts)

Shift Pattern: 24/7 (a combination of 12 hour shifts 07:00-19:00/19:00-07:00 worked over a 5 week shift pattern - this can be discussed in more detail at interview)

As a Technical Coordinator, you'll provide essential technical engineering support to our production team, ensuring our equipment runs smoothly. This role follows a 24/7 shift pattern, so flexibility is key.

What you will be doing:

  1. Safety & Compliance: Conduct safety checks, ensure all work complies with safety regulations, and contribute to improving maintenance schedules
  2. Maintain Equipment Reliability: Perform inspections and maintenance to ensure the mechanical and electrical integrity of our equipment, identifying and resolving issues quickly
  3. Monitor & Report: Track equipment performance, manage downtime, and report any breakdowns or trends using the company’s reporting systems
  4. Continuous Improvement: Recommend and implement improvements to processes and work standards, fostering a culture of innovation and efficiency
  5. Collaborate & Communicate: Share key information with colleagues and other shifts, ensuring smooth handovers and clear documentation

  • Formal qualification at least City & Guilds, NVQ level 3 or equivalent in electrical discipline with practical experience
  • Experience with pneumatics or PLCs is advantageous, as is the ability to understand engineering drawings, symbols, and notation
  • Knowledge of COSHH legislative standards (essential)
