The Vacancy

SHIFT MAINTENANCE ENGINEER


Wates has an excellent opportunity for a skilled Engineer to join our team on-site at our client's location in Leeds. The role involves providing planned and reactive maintenance to all relevant equipment, controlling and operating building operational systems, and ensuring compliance with Health & Safety standards.


About the Role

We are seeking candidates with excellent communication and people management skills, sound judgment, and a focus on high standards and quality assurance.


The successful candidate will have a working knowledge of statutory regulations and codes of practice applicable to the maintenance industry, with IOSH Working Safely certification and up-to-date qualifications.


This role operates on a shift rota with no overnight attendance unless called out; details of the call-out rota will be discussed.


Any offer of employment will be subject to relevant security checks.


Key Accountabilities
  1. Ensure all help desk calls (planned and reactive) are fully completed with adequate information and passed to the Manager, Supervisor, or Coordinator within defined timescales.
  2. Proactively monitor and improve building system operations to ensure optimal performance, energy efficiency, and continuous improvement.
  3. Provide first-line response for maintenance on all M&E plant including pumps, motors, drives, AHUs, LV switchgear, PLCs, HVAC systems.

This position offers the opportunity to work on a single site with multiple buildings and external plant areas.
