Job summary
Talent STEM Ltd leads an established manufacturing business in Newcastle seeking a Shift Maintenance Electrical Technician to join the engineering team. This hands-on role maintains production equipment in a 24/7 environment, supporting reliability, reducing downtime and driving continuous improvements.
The role requires an Electrical Engineering apprenticeship or HNC, with Siemens PLC fault-finding experience and strong knowledge of industrial electrical systems.
Qualifications
- Completed Electrical Engineering apprenticeship or equivalent.
- HNC in Electrical Engineering or related discipline.
- Experience fault finding on Siemens PLC systems.
- Strong knowledge of industrial electrical systems and schematics.
- Experience within manufacturing, production or process environments.
Responsibilities
- Carry out planned and reactive maintenance on manufacturing equipment.
- Diagnose and repair electrical faults on production machinery.
- Support Siemens PLC fault finding and diagnostics.
- Work with AC/DC drives and industrial control systems.
- Assist with equipment installations and commissioning.
- Maintain records using the CMMS system.
- Support continuous improvement and reliability initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety procedures including LOTO and permit-to-work systems.
