Talent STEM Ltd leads an established manufacturing business in Newcastle seeking a Shift Maintenance Electrical Technician to join the engineering team. This hands-on role maintains production equipment in a 24/7 environment, supporting reliability, reducing downtime and driving continuous improvements.

The role requires an Electrical Engineering apprenticeship or HNC, with Siemens PLC fault-finding experience and strong knowledge of industrial electrical systems.

Qualifications

• Completed Electrical Engineering apprenticeship or equivalent.
• HNC in Electrical Engineering or related discipline.
• Experience fault finding on Siemens PLC systems.
• Strong knowledge of industrial electrical systems and schematics.
• Experience within manufacturing, production or process environments.

Responsabilités

• Carry out planned and reactive maintenance on manufacturing equipment.
• Diagnose and repair electrical faults on production machinery.
• Support Siemens PLC fault finding and diagnostics.
• Work with AC/DC drives and industrial control systems.
• Assist with equipment installations and commissioning.
• Maintain records using the CMMS system.
• Support continuous improvement and reliability initiatives.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety procedures including LOTO and permit-to-work systems.

Talent STEM are partnering with an established manufacturing business in Newcastle seeking a Shift Maintenance Electrical Technician to join their engineering team.

This hands-on role involves maintaining and improving production equipment within a 24/7 manufacturing environment, supporting equipment reliability, minimising downtime and contributing to continuous improvement projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out planned and reactive maintenance on manufacturing equipment
• Diagnose and repair electrical faults on production machinery
• Support Siemens PLC fault finding and diagnostics
• Work with AC/DC drives and industrial control systems
• Assist with equipment installations and commissioning

Requirements

• Completed Electrical Engineering apprenticeship or equivalent
• HNC in Electrical Engineering or related discipline
• Experience fault finding on Siemens PLC systems
• Strong knowledge of industrial electrical systems and schematics
• Experience within manufacturing, production or process environments
• Knowledge of drives, Profibus or Profinet would be advantageous
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
