A leading facilities management firm is seeking a Shift Maintenance Craftsperson (Mechanical) at Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Birmingham. This full-time role requires interpreting instructions, conducting maintenance, and understanding mechanical systems. Equans is looking for a Shift Maintenance Craftsperson (Mechanical) to join our team at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Birmingham. This is a permanent, full-time role, working 39.375 hours per week. This is based on a shift pattern of four days on, four days off, made up of working two days 0700 - 1900 and two nights 1900 - 0700.

Interpret and work from all instructions, drawings, and specifications appropriate to his/her own trade, without supervision
Set up New Work appropriate to candidates' own trade using relevant tools, equipment, and machinery, without supervision, as appropriate their grade
Carry out unsupervised maintenance and repairs and report any defects or unusual circumstances to the Charge Hand/Supervisor
Required to learn new mechanical techniques with the appropriate training, as necessary
Scope of work will include entering Mortuary, ITU's, A&E admissions, Operating Theatres etc after reporting to Trust Staff. Occasional exposure to distressing or emotional circumstances could be encountered

City & Guilds (or equivalent) Mechanical qualifications. Understanding of AHU, FCU, pressurisation units, pumps and other commercial plantroom equipment
Indentured apprenticeship or equivalent training
Previous experience as a Mechanical Craftsperson in a healthcare environment (desirable)
This role includes a DBS Standard check therefore ability to pass is essential.
