Simon Acres Group are currently seeking a reliable and experienced Shift Leader to join our highly successful and well-established client in the Kitchen manufacturing industry.
Salary is negotiable dependant on experience and knowledgeKey Responsibilities
Change Management & Continuous ImprovementChampion a proactive culture of continuous improvement by applying Lean principles, tools, and techniques across departments.
Ensure effective deployment and rollout of Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) initiatives in alignment with agreed timelines.
Lead weekly Lean review meetings (in the Production Manager's absence) to identify and drive productivity enhancements using KPIs such as panels/units per FTE.
Lead initiatives to improve process quality, reduce scrap and rework, and decrease the cost of failure in line with defined performance targets.
Ensure raw materials meet quality standards upon delivery and drive continuous improvements in product quality.
Achieve and maintain an On-Time In-Full (OTIF) delivery rate of 99.8% or higher for manufactured goods to the loading bay.
Monitor and manage OTIF and quality performance of all inbound raw materials to ensure production continuity and excellence.
Promote and ensure full compliance with all Health & Safety legislation, company policies, and risk management procedures.
Collaborate with the EHS team to meet and sustain world-class safety standards, targeting fewer than 2 OSHA-recordable incidents and under 200 OSHA hours annually.
Conduct regular safety audits, risk assessments, and safety training reviews to embed a safety-first culture.
Drive performance improvements through KPI monitoring and continuous application of Lean tools.
Ensure all departments are equipped and trained in Lean methodologies and consistently apply them to daily operations.
Manage, support, and motivate Production Team Leaders, ensuring effective performance management and leadership by example.
Identify training needs for shop floor personnel and ensure structured development plans are implemented.
Lead daily production meetings and escalate operational issues to the Production Manager as needed.
Work closely with HR to manage employee relations issues, ensure consistent application of disciplinary processes, and attend hearings where necessary.
Monitor attendance and ensure 100% completion of Return to Work forms following absence.
Build strong working relationships with internal managers and key stakeholders to support operational and strategic goals.

Requirements :
Excellent leadership and communication skills, able to lead, innovate and inspire colleagues at all levels in the business promoting positive teamwork.
A strong lateral thinker with good problem solving and decision making abilities, supported by a comprehensive knowledge of manufacturing.
Have the drive, knowledge and self confidence to manage and develop the position and the direct reports.
The ability to work independently and structured. Self motivated.
The ability to work with personnel from all levels
Extensive manufacturing experience is essential.

Good analytical skills
Experience in Microsoft Office applications
