Tesco Shift Lead in Hitchin is a store-based leadership role focused on delivering a great in-store experience. You’ll lead a team, work across store areas, and be the go-to person for daily operational questions, helping colleagues perform at their best.

The role offers flexible shift patterns, a minimum of 16 hours per week, and competitive pay from £15.59 per hour (rising to £16.86 in certain stores). You must be 18+, with strong customer-service skills and clear communication to support

Tesco Shift Lead pay starts at £15.59 per hour, rising to £16.86 in stores within the M25. Some locations may offer additional payments. We guarantee a minimum of 16 hours per week, though roles from 12 hours are also available.

Your contracted hours will be scheduled within the availability windows shown, with at least 3 weeks’ notice of your shifts. If your availability is close to what we’re looking for, we still encourage you to apply.

You will be responsible for

You will need

• To be over 18 for this role.
• Experience working in a team lead or management position in a fast-paced retail environment.
• Be a strong role model with a passion for delivering great service and ensuring every customer’s needs are met.
• Build positive, long‑lasting relationships to create an inclusive, supportive team environment.
• A clear communicator, using a variety of methods to keep the team well informed.
• A natural leader who motivates and inspires the team to deliver outstanding results.
