Friends of the Elderly (FotE) is a not-for-profit charity dedicated to providing excellent care with a family feel. We have been supporting older people for over 100 years. The charity provides care home and day care services for older people, as well as grants for those in financial difficulty.
Located in Woking, Surrey, we offer residential and nursing dementia care in modern, purpose-built facilities, supported by a dedicated, well-trained, and compassionate team of staff.
Join our team as a Shift Leader, where you will be responsible for delivering person-centered care tailored to each individual. Your role will involve supporting residents in maintaining key skills, personal interests, independence, choice, and dignity, enabling them to lead fulfilling lives.
You will ensure our residents are safe and comfortable, act as a champion for their safety and dignity, and lead the team in providing quality, individualized care in line with our procedures and policies.
Responsibilities include keeping clear and accurate records, following procedures for medication management, conducting staff supervisions and appraisals, and maintaining a safe and clean environment following infection control protocols.
Our shift patterns include days and weekends to ensure continuous care.
To succeed, you need excellent communication and interpersonal skills, digital and number skills, problem-solving abilities, and the capacity to recognize and escalate safeguarding concerns.
The role requires at least 2 years of experience in a care setting as a Team Leader, comfort with administering medication, and preferably an NVQ Level 3 in health and social care, with a goal to progress towards Level 4.
