Job summary

JLL is seeking an experienced Facilities Engineer to execute day-to-day technical requirements in a high-profile workspace, ensuring SOPs, KPIs, and SLAs are met. You will work with the workspace team to deliver a resilient engineering service and an excellent workplace experience for the client’s colleagues and guests.

The role involves operating building systems, performing inspections, and coordinating with vendors, with a site-based shift pattern (12 hours, nights and days) on client

Qualifications

  • HV/LV authorised person AP15 (refresher training available)
  • IEE Wiring Regulations or equivalent mechanical engineering qualification
  • HNC & HND in engineering discipline
  • Confined Authorised person (refresher training available)
  • Mechanical Pressure authorised person (refresher training available)
  • Experience with building automation systems and integrated smart building technologies
  • Basic programming and configuration skills for smart building systems
  • Strong troubleshooting abilities and analytical thinking
  • Proficiency with CMMS
  • Leadership

Responsibilities

  • Comply with Client contract requirements and KPIs.
  • Operate all building systems (including HV) competently and efficiently.
  • Carry out plant and works inspections and audits for operational excellence.
  • Monitor BAS/HVAC, lighting, security, fire alarm, and energy systems.
  • Respond to alerts, diagnose issues, and escalate when needed.
  • Perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance on smart building tech.
  • Troubleshoot IoT devices, sensors, controllers, and network issues.
  • Document maintenance activities in CMMS and related systems.
  • Coordinate with vendors/contractors for specialised maintenance.
  • Provide technical support to occupants during shifts.

What this job involves:

The role is responsible for the execution of the day-to-day technical requirements in the workspace, ensuring compliance to SOPs, KPIs and SLAs. A key aspect of this role is to work hand in hand with the wider workspace team to deliver a resilient and consistent engineering service that supports the wider team goal of delivering an excellent workplace experience to our client's colleagues and their guests.

What your day-to-day will look like:
Operationally
  • Comply with all requirements of the Client contract and meet or exceed Key Performance Indicators
  • Operate all systems within the buildings in a competent, effective, and efficient manner (including HV operations where required).
  • Ensure regular plant inspections, works inspections and audits are carried out to drive operational excellence across the site.
  • Monitor and operate building automation systems (BAS) including HVAC, lighting, security, fire alarm, and energy management systems
  • Respond to system alerts and alarms, diagnosing and resolving issues or escalating as needed
  • Perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance on smart building technologies and equipment
  • Troubleshoot IoT devices, sensors, controllers, and network connectivity issues
  • Execute programming changes to building systems as directed by engineering team
  • Monitor energy usage patterns and implement efficiency measures according to established protocols
  • Document all maintenance activities, system adjustments, and technical issues in digital management systems
  • Coordinate with vendors and contractors for specialised maintenance and repairs
  • Respond to occupant comfort requests and technical support needs during shift
  • Maintain comprehensive knowledge of building systems integration and dependencies
Desired or preferred experience and technical skills:
  • HV/LV authorised person AP15 - Refresher training can be provided
  • Current Edition IEE: Wiring and Installation Regulations or equivalent Mechanical engineering qualification
  • HNC & HND in an engineering discipline
  • Confined Authorised person - Refresher training can be provided
  • Mechanical Pressure authorised person - Refresher training can be provided
  • experience with building automation systems and integrated smart building technologies
  • Basic programming and configuration skills for smart building systems
  • Strong troubleshooting abilities and analytical thinking
  • Proficiency with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS)

Required Skills and Experience:
  • City & Guilds Level 3 NQV in electrical/mechanical discipline
  • Has worked within a Critical Engineering Facility
  • Strong PC literacy and able to manage daily activities using various systems, such as BMS, and other computerized control/monitoring system
