Job summary

Zest is recruiting for a Multi-Skilled Shift Lead Engineer in Cambridgeshire. This hands-on role involves leading a small team, performing repairs and planned maintenance, and keeping the site running smoothly while shaping how the shift operates.

You will be responsible for day-to-day leadership, be the main point of contact for the shift, and have opportunities for training and development from senior management. Experience in food/FMCG is desirable but not essential.

Qualifications

• This role requires a multi-skilled engineer capable of hands-on maintenance and problem solving.
• NVQ Level 2 or 3, ideally with Level 3 in Electrical.
• Strong leadership potential and a proactive, lead-by-example attitude.
• Food or FMCG manufacturing experience is desirable but not essential.
• Early in the leadership journey seeking the next step.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage a small team across day and night shifts.
• Carry out repairs and PM work across the site.
• Be the main point of contact for your shift and coordinate activities.
• Operate on a 4 on 4 off dayshift pattern with development opportunities.

Education

NVQ Level 2 or 3, ideally with a Level 3 in Electrical
