Job summary

Biffa Edmonton is seeking a hands-on Shift Engineering Supervisor to lead a multi-skilled engineering team at our busy Materials Recovery Facility. You’ll drive plant performance, reduce downtime and prioritise maintenance activities to keep operations safe and efficient.

You’ll develop your team, deliver high engineering standards on site, and contribute to continuous improvement while maintaining clear shift handovers and accurate CMMS records.

Qualifications

• HNC in Mechanical or Plant Engineering.
• Experience supervising engineering teams in industrial environments.
• Strong fault finding and problem solving abilities.
• Experience with hydraulics, pneumatics and welding.
• Ability to prioritise workloads in a fast-paced operational environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise a shift team of engineers and contractors to maximise plant performance and uptime.
• Prioritise planned and reactive maintenance to support operations.
• Carry out fault finding, diagnostics and repairs across plant and machinery.
• Deliver preventative and breakdown maintenance to minimise downtime.
• Support RCA investigations and implement long-term corrective actions.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records using the CMMS.
