Job summary

The Shepherd Mayfair in London is seeking a Shift Engineer to join our dedicated engineering team. You will be responsible for the upkeep, maintenance and management of all hotel areas, ensuring energy conservation and group standards are met.

This full-time role covers reactive and planned maintenance, works with other departments, supports audits, and helps maintain stock levels and meter readings. Ideal candidates bring plumbing, electrical and decorating skills, a customer-focused approach,

We are currently recruiting for a Shift Engineer to join our Truly Talented team.

As a Shift Engineer, you will be responsible for the upkeep, maintenance, and management of all areas of the hotel, including energy conservation.

Your role

As a Shift Engineer, you will be responsible for completion of all Engineering‑related work within the hotel in a timely fashion; you’ll be responsible for making sure the property is consistently maintained to group standards and any issues are addressed in a timely manner.

The role will cover both reactive and planned preventative work and involve working closely with all hotel departments to ensure minimum disruption to guests. You’ll support property audits, record benchmarking data such as meter readings and work with the maintenance manager to monitor relevant stock levels.

The ideal person for this role will be enthusiastic about change, focused on details and trusting.

The Core Skills And Experience Required To Succeed

• Knowledge and experience of plumbing, electrics and decorating are highly important to this role, alongside being enthusiastic, motivated and able to work well under pressure;


• Knowledge of health & safety practices and regulation;

• Able to work within a team and on own initiative.
