Shift Engineer (Electrical Biased) - Northamptonshire (NN3)

Commutable from: Kettering, Northampton, Rugby, Milton Keynes, Bedford, Corby, Daventry

Salary: £55,000 + Overtime

Shift Pattern: 12-hour shifts - 2 Days / 2 Nights / 4 Off (Work 7 cycles then get 18 days off)

Company Overview

Our client is a leading packaging manufacturer, part of a multi-billion-pound global group, renowned for product quality and industry standards. Due to departmental growth, they are seeking an electrical biased shift engineer.

Role & Responsibilities

• Electrical & mechanical maintenance, PPMs, and repairs
• Working on high-speed production & packaging machinery, conveyors, automation & controls, plant machinery, and robotics
• Collaborating within a growing engineering team
• Developing existing engineering functions
• Handling motors, drives, PLCs, hydraulics, pneumatics, sensors, gearboxes
• Project work: new machine installations, upgrades, and continuous improvement
• Assisting with developing new PPMs and asset care management systems

Knowledge, Skills & Experience

• Electrical biased engineer with at least 5 years' experience in maintenance engineering
• Time-served apprenticeship with electrical qualifications (NVQ Level 3 or higher)
• Experience in fast-paced production environments (FMCG, food, packaging, automation)
• Proficient with PLCs, motors, drives, automation systems
• Strong preventative maintenance background
• Ability to work independently and on own initiative
• Positive attitude, good communication, analytical, self-motivated
