This business are a world wide firm, they have a large manufacturing scope and with a compativie pay, they offer excellent benefits and working life balance with the Panama shift. As a Shift Engineer you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of production processes. Working as part of a wider maintenance team, this position involves carrying out both scheduled maintenance and fast, effective responses to breakdowns. The successful candidate will bring strong technical skills and a proactive attitude to fault diagnosis and repair, while maintaining compliance with all relevant Health and Safety regulations.

Main Duties & Responsibilities
  • Carry out machining and basic welding as required

  • Respond quickly and effectively to mechanical / elec breakdowns

  • Plan and undertake scheduled preventive maintenance

  • Diagnose and repair mechanical faults efficiently

  • Maintain accurate maintenance and repair records

  • Work with a range of mechanical systems and components including:

    • Milling machines and lathes

    • Fault Finding, Single / 3 phase motors
    • Diaphragm and vane pumps

    • Pneumatics and hydraulics

    • Clutches, chains, belts, bearings, and small gearboxes

Qualifications
  • Time-served Elec apprenticeship (essential)

  • HNC/HND in Engineering or equivalent (desirable)

Skills & Experience
  • Proven experience in fault diagnosis and repair

  • Practical, hands-on approach with strong problem-solving skills

  • Self-motivated and capable of managing workload and priorities

  • Excellent attention to detail and analytical thinking

  • Strong communication and teamwork abilities
