Job description

The Engineering function at the GSK Ware Manufacturing and Supply site is responsible for providing technical expertise to support manufacturing, automation, and control systems to ensure production targets are met. The Respiratory Supply Chain (RSC) Assembly engineering team works shift-based to support production activities.

We are seeking a motivated Shift Engineer to lead the Assembly team, managing up to 6 Engineering Technicians. Reporting to an Engineering Operations Manager, your responsibilities include:

  1. Managing and developing people, plant, equipment, and process understanding across the site.
  2. Collaborating with engineers, contractors, suppliers, and consultants to deliver engineering activities with quality, cost, and time targets.
  3. Overseeing process performance and implementing improvements to meet the site’s commercial strategy.
  4. Supporting regulatory audits and inspections.

The role also involves supporting wider manufacturing operations and ensuring compliance with safety, quality, and GMP regulations.

Shift Pattern: The role operates on a 24/7 schedule with 12-hour shifts from approximately 7:00 to 19:00 (days) and 19:00 to 7:00 (nights), including night and weekend work.

About You: Suitable candidates will have strong GMP environment experience, engineering qualifications, leadership skills, and a track record in performance management. Experience in a regulated industry and stakeholder engagement is preferred.

About Ware Site: The site features state-of-the-art facilities for inhaler production and API processing, fostering collaboration among R&D, engineering, and supply chain teams to innovate and deliver medicines efficiently.

Qualifications: Relevant engineering qualifications (HND/degree), GMP knowledge, and engineering management experience in regulated environments.
