Job summary

Michael Page is seeking a Maintenance Engineer to support the Head of Engineering in ensuring plant machinery effectiveness and site maintenance. The role covers proactive and reactive maintenance, promoting safety, and coordinating with the Production team to minimise downtime.

You will undertake daily, weekly and monthly checks, follow safe systems of work, and handle housekeeping of electrical and mechanical equipment, with a 4 on 4 off shift pattern (2 days, 2 nights).

Qualifications

• Strong technical background in engineering and manufacturing.
• Conversant with PLCs and control systems.
• Knowledge of health and safety regulations in engineering.
• Ability to perform effectively in a fast-paced setting.
• Relevant technical qualifications or certifications in engineering.

Responsibilities

• Support the Head of Engineering in ensuring plant machinery effectiveness and maintenance.
• Contribute to proactive and reactive maintenance activities and safe systems of work.
• Promote Health & Safety practices within the department and site.
• Liaise with Production to minimise disruption during maintenance or repairs.

Description

• To take a full and active role in the operation of the Engineering Department.
• To take an active role in promoting good Health & Safety practices within the department and site.
• To assist with the implementation of all planned preventative maintenance activities.
• To be pro-active in seeking remedies to minimise any down time which may affect the operation of the production facility.
• To follow safe systems of work for engineering activities.
• Liaise with the Production team to ensure any required maintenance or emergency repairs minimise disruption whilst ensuring work is carried out to the highest standards.
• Take a pro-active role in daily, weekly or monthly machinery checks and repairs.
• Deal with day-to-day housekeeping issues across the business covering electrical and mechanical equipment.
• Adhere to strictest confidentiality standards with regards to all company financial and salary matters.
• Attend call outs for serious breakdowns if required.Shift pattern- 4 on 4 off- 2 days, 2 nights

Profile

• A strong technical background in engineering and manufacturing.
