Maintech Recruitment Ltd is partnering with a large-scale renewable energy site in Durham to recruit a Mechanical Engineer on a 4 on/4 off, 12-hour shift pattern (6am–6pm/6pm–6am). You will perform planned and reactive maintenance across mechanical, electrical and process equipment to keep plant running safely and efficiently.
The role suits hands-on engineers with heavy industrial experience, PLC/SCADA fault finding, and a clean driving license.
We are working with a large-scale renewable energy business operating within the anaerobic digestion and biogas sector. The site operates a heavy industrial, process-driven environment, with a strong focus on reliability, compliance and continued investment in plant and equipment.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a Mechanical Engineer to join the site on a structured 4 on / 4 off shift pattern, covering both days and nights (4 days, 4 nights, 12-hour shifts: 6am–6pm / 6pm–6am). You will be responsible for planned and reactive maintenance across a wide range of mechanical, electrical and process equipment, carrying out fault finding, repairs and preventative maintenance to keep the site running efficiently, safely and to a high standard.
This role would suit a hands-on Maintenance Engineer from a heavy industrial background who is looking for a well-structured shift pattern, strong earning potential and the chance to develop specialist skills within the growing renewable energy and gas handling sector. It's an excellent opportunity for someone who takes pride in their work, enjoys variety, and wants long-term stability with an investing, forward-thinking business.
